Be confident. Be present. Be ready for anything.
We offer adult classes for all levels of experience! The booking page for each course lists its prerequisites, but broadly speaking:
- Intro to Impro is for those with no prior impro experience.
- Our core courses are for those who have completed Intro to Impro, but have not completed one year of impro. They are currently Narrrative Know-How, Physicality & Stagecraft and Fearless, Focused and Fun.
- Courses for those who have completed one year of impro focus on putting core skills into practice in different types of impro, and building confidence in their use.
- Beyond the first two years, courses are many and varied!
How much does it cost?
• Non-members $30 (or $20 concession) per class
• Members $22.50 (or $15 concession) per class
Prices have risen in 2024 due to increasing operating costs (e.g. venue hire). If you feel that these changes create a barrier for you being able to attend, we encourage you to contact a committee member via our email address to discuss. Scholarships and payment plans are available for those experiencing financial hardship.

When does it start?
We run classes every Wednesday from the first week of April to the first week of December.
Classes are organised into terms of focus, with an Open Impro Jam approximately once a month.
Find details on our upcoming classes below, or on our Facebook page, or on our calendar.
2024 Term dates:
Term 1: 3 April -22 May (excluding 1 May)
Term 2: 5 June - 28 July (excluding 3 July)
Term 3: 14 August - 25 September
Term 4: 9 October - 20 November
There is a hiatus in classes from the start of December to the end of March each year in order for us to focus on our Adelaide Fringe Festival season.
Can I attend if I am under 18?
We recommend participants be aged 18 years or older, but will accept participants 16 years and older with parent permission. Our workshops take place in an adult environment and may include adult material, due to the content being improvised by participants.
Can you run a workshop for my business/organisation?
Yes! Get in touch with us via email for details and a quote.
What's the deal with COVID-19?
Since the pandemic began we have been encouraging students to pre-book into our workshops to secure a place as we will have strict limits on participants. If you are feeling sick, do NOT attend. Let us know before the workshop and we may be able to offer you a refund. You are also asked to practice physical distancing and maintain good hand hygiene.
Can I get a refund if I can't attend my booked class?
If you have a single-week ticket, we may be able to offer a refund if we hear from you with enough time prior to the class. This will allow us to open your ticket to another participant. We unfortunately cannot offer partial refunds or class credits if you have booked a full-term ticket.
Contact us to check on your situation.
